Hi-res interface and pixel graphics are ugly
Why can't you make pixel interface too? This makes it look like a mobile game

Cutting the interface from the worldspace drives a wedge between "control" and the tactical field. (MST is cleverly using it to evoke an arcade cabinet.) Endless Space 2's UI is the go-to example of this (It's actually split on four levels) and it works famously.
