No Man's Land Start from Scratch
This is mostly just a rant. Because I just wasted 10 hours trying to make something of No Man's Land on Start from Scratch.

What the hell are you supposed to do? I'm giving up on start from scratch and restarting as Farm Manager. I was in NORMAL economy and it was literally impossible to make a profit. I tried everything. The only thing that was decent was logs, but trees are limited. I tried Chickens but the eggs actually lost money. Had to buy bags of wheat because I couldn't afford the harvester to get my own wheat because net profit doesn't exist. The 200k starting debt just siphons all the money you would have made.

And again this was all on *normal* economy. I guess Hard wasn't made with modded maps in mind, but choosing Hard economy here just makes it a "how long can I last before inevitable bankruptcy" challenge.

Well No Mans Land is pretty start from scratch as it is, add in start from scratch, given there are no contracts, and its bound to be pretty hard.
Yea I actually found how you do it. Or at least one way. You just pay the debt off immediately with starting cash and then get the 360 Chicken Coop. But that got boring because its just going back and forth between chickens and shop for more feed & dropping off eggs for hours until you can actually start playing the game. It's pointless. You should never do no man's land on start from scratch unless you hate yourself.
I did it with small equipment mods and the silo from the map (very cheap). 115k money and one section of land for 85k. I didn't want to do wood sales so I vowed no tree sales for 5 years. I planted arable crops in 4 small fields for a couple years. Couldn't afford hired help or gps units for the equipment so I was forced to drive every bit of plowing, etc. That was not fun at first but I got practiced enough to get fairly good at it. Still though not sure if it was actually fun. The silo was key to keep the crops till December for best returns. Year 6 I started sheep and expanded as I went. I am now in year 16, have 5 decent Deere tractors, 2 combine harvesters, 165 sheep (daily feed and water but boy does that wool bring in the currency), 3 sections of land, small farm house and garage, 3 sheds to store stuff. I can now hire help without worrying and three tractors have GPS for auto steering. Now I am farming full speed. I could only recommend this to a die hard player to be honest. I would guess I am getting about 350k in money coming in each year so now it is comfortable cash flow.
Buy fields 22 and 12, do some logging. Dont worry about replanting(unless you simply want to continue with logging). I use the money from the logs to fund other avenues like more fields, equipment, animals, etc. Considering you changed the economy to normal, there is more than enough money to be made from those 2 fields to fund whatever you want to do.
Silage may not be a bad thing to get into a little bit considering all the grass there is that can be cut. Buy a field, cut the grass, put in a bunker or get a fermenting silo mod for it. There wont be a ton of money from it but its consistent money(especially if you plant a field or two with grass) and doesnt take much money to get it going.

could always look at the sell points and find what sells for the most money then buy some pallets eg: clothes then sell them to make money, do this a few times and you will end up with some profit

Only 1 sell point on the map in quesion, it doesnt sell very many items, and the items it does sell costs more to buy than you get from selling it back.
Use the ladder and get onto the roof of the shop building, pick up all 20 video game cartridges up there, and you have just over 1 million dollars. Plenty of money to set up a farm.
I'm currently doing a start from scratch too (bought a truck, chainsaw, one property (forest), paid off bank and deleted the rest of the money so it's a true ZERO cash start, then logged and built up enough to start placing stuff.
Another option for this map that I found out with a new playthrough. This map comes with 2 additional greenhouses, flower and mushroom. I set up 3 of each of those($1500 each), put additional water tank on each one($2100 each) and bought a cheap water transport trailor. It was about $30,000 up front cost but those greenhouses make around $100,000 per month on hard economy.
The only time i did one was with the hemp package mod, i bought the plot near the store and built one piece at time managing storage and best selling prices. But a vanilla game sounds pointless boring waiting for crops to grow wile doing nothing for years.
