Remote play together...2 copies needed...?

.....OK, do we need 2 copies of the game to remote play together on my home network? When I invite the 2nd pc on my home network to my game through the multiplayer tab, my pc streams the game and the 2nd pc joins the lobby.... but it treats the their controller not independently. We can select only one character with either controller but then not a 2nd playable character on the 2nd controller.....? I don't usually have issues with remote play together with a shared co-op game......any help...? thanks...

This is strange. Although, are you choosing "multiplayer" from the menu? That currently opens an online lobby. We're working on the wording for this to make things a little clearer. So if you try just a regular new game, a local player (or remote play player) can join at the character menu there! Let me know if this solves your problem, thanks!

Hi, thank you for the input. Yes, I do go to the multiplayer lobby & join through remote play together & at that point all is good, the 2nd pc joins as it should. But it seems as if the lobby is treating both controllers....the 1st on pc1, 2nd on pc2, as the same single input. Both controllers work but only to select a single playable character. As a further test... 2 controllers on 1 pc does work to select 2 playable characters as it should in the game......it's just going through remote play using the controller on the 2nd pc.... that controller has this issue.....

Cool. We've updated the game so "Multiplayer" now says "Online Multiplayer" and you should avoid clicking this if you're looking to play using Remote Play. For now just click "New Game" and let the other player join on the character select screen. That works fine for us. When you play using real online multiplayer, only one local controller is allowed, so this explains your issue. We'll work on improving the wording of it soon!

When will it be possible to play together from one PC and invite a friend online?And will there be such an opportunity?

Sorry, it's not possible to have more than one player on a PC while also playing with others online, and we currently don't have plans for such a feature.
