Dinkum very heavily borrows from cozy-paced town builders and doesn't focus too much on combat (until the Undergrove and Hot Hot Hot - additional levels in the mines - and that can get a bit frustrating without some serious time investment into other upgrades, craftables, items).
The pace overall is quite slow. Typically you won't see the end of your first year for 10-20 hours or more, depending on how much you do per day (hunt bugs, fish, farm, do tasks to improve relations (to get rewards), go into the mine..).
It has a museum, collectable fish/bugs, fairly slow-medium progression to get the less-than-a-dozen townsfolk moved in, and offers pretty decent customizability insofar as building/prop crafting and placement, and terraforming. Upgrades mostly fall in the "do X faster" category, but there are plenty of vehicles and passive resource/money generator options as well.
Updates are pretty solid and come every few months.
You can also catch and pen animals, so if you're fond of the idea of having dozens of bush turkeys or fairy penguins in a habitat by your house, you can do that.
The value estimation is (as always) your own; is it worth the price of a pizza to get a game you'll probably spend somewhere between 100 and 1,000 hours playing?
My two cents:
Ah yh I played animal crossing for hours so I’ll consider this . Thank you !
