They didn't. Yes the 360 had achievements, but the 360 had them from the get-go.
Most older PS3 also don't have trophies. I am pretty sure w@w on PS3 doesn't have trophies, since it's also an old game and I highly doubt they ever imported the 360 achievements to it.

... some really stupid comments in this thread, PS3 DID have trophies and so did xb360
pc does not any. why? its unsure but while WaW is "Games for Windows" compatible, it isn't "Games for Windows Live" (GFWL) compatible. GFWL titles have support for achievements and all that other stuff. you also created your own profile on the game which isnt tied to your steam account, this changed with mw2 and after

It's an old game and it's not a steam release. They have physical copies you can buy too.

Masturbating those imaginary achievements gives you a false sense of accomplishment or what? Do you think you would look cool by earning and showing them to everybody? What's the point of this question even?

PS3 launched in 2006 while w@w launched in 2008. Trophies were first introduced in 2008 as well and they weren't mandatory until 2009. Please think before you open your mouth. I assumed the PS3 version of w@w doesn't have trophies because of its age. While I was wrong in that case, many other games do not have trophies and they will never ever have them, same with Steam.

if you had any comprehensible skills you'd notice i didnt say ALL ps3 games have trophies and i was specifically refering to waw on ps3 which did have trophies upon release in 08 and became more promenant in 09, so try again

It's nice to be able to tick off "challenge boxes" for your favorite games. Adds replay value to them and it's fun to go for certain achievements (save X person in a certain amount of time, beat the game with no kills, etc.). It's always nice to see when games have those specialized achievements that reward you for completing missions in a certain way or killing an enemy in a unique and special way.

I said "I am pretty sure" it didn't have them on PS3 because it's a rather old game. Every game on 360 has achievements since day 1, while it took several years for PS3 to get trophies. It's not stupid, go and look a multiplat game from 2006-07 up and you'll see it will have achievements on xbox, but none on PS3 because PS3 didn't introduce them until 2008. And they weren't even mandatory until 09. Again I wasn't lazy, I assumed it. It's the same story with Steam, they didn't introduce achievements until like 08 or something and they've never been mandatory either so even in 2018 you can find games on Steam without achievements.
