That would be great if true. It's a shame. I was pretty excited to replay this game after so many years.
Thanks for the tip, I did panic and press cancel in time, but others may not be as fast as you and me. They should still remove it if the game doesn't need it anymore, who knows if it's still running process in the background, using up system resources. Removing anti cheats once they are installed is also a pain in the ass as often a simple uninstall won't remove everything completely. I had to manually remove one remaining process even after using the dedicated uninstall tool for EAC, the most popular anti cheat right now.
